These 14 sustainable sweaters will keep you toasty warm and cozy all winter long!

Sweater season has just begun, which is so exciting if you’re like me and love being cozy and bundled up in a nice, warm knit!

A good sweater is a staple to have in our wardrobe, especially if we live in a four-season climate.

But what I hate about winter clothes and particularly sweaters is that most of them are made with unsustainable fabrics, usually synthetics.

It’s difficult to find high-quality knits that are made sustainably using eco-friendly materials.

Thankfully, it’s not impossible!

I’ve curated 14 sustainable sweaters from sustainable knitwear brands that you can feel good about buying.

They’ll keep you cozy and toasty warm all season, no matter what you decide to do this winter!

What are sustainable sweaters?

Sustainable sweaters are made by brands that care about the environment, animals, and people working for them.

These companies implement ethical and eco-friendly practices throughout their supply chain, from water-saving processes to waste-reducing initiatives

Sustainable sweaters are also crafted using sustainable materials, such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, or recycled nylon.

If you’re looking for a wool sweater, try to go for recycled options, like recycled cashmere or recycled merino wool.

Also, try to only buy from brands that source their wool responsibly and transparently, from suppliers who support animal welfare.

Ideally, look for wool certified by the Responsible Wool Standard.

It’s also important to buy from brands making quality their priority.

A sustainable sweater should last for many years!

Finally, brands carrying certifications like Fairtrade or B Corp are always great companies worth supporting!
